Darkness or Depression
What you call it doesn’t matter, how it calls you matters. Depression is becoming a major obstacle for human society and the human mind. We, humans, are still on the verge of figuring out, what is it? How it comes into your mind and affects your soul.
Definition:
Well, depression is a medical condition, which causes your body to slow down, whether it’s the mood or the functioning, you will start feeling bad about everything.
In my point of view, everyone is more or less suffering from depression. I suffered from this too and in the response I have heard a lot of things in that phase like depression doesn’t exist or how come you be depressed, you have everything a person needed. There hits me a dialogue from a movie;
You think it happens with aliens until it happens with you.
Why Depression happens
There is no certain reason or cause of depression, it could be because of some medical condition or because of some emotional conditions like abuse,death or loss of some loved one, conflict, etc. Yes, depression can be genetic too. Sometimes depression can come because of some positive changes which lead to stress.
How Depression effects your Body
Depression happens to happen in our mind and our mind controls our whole body. So depression effects your whole body. From head to toe, right?
Is Despression Curable
While there’s no 100% cure of depression but there are some proven treatments thathelped a lot to one’s who are in darkness.
How to Cure Depression
Biological Treatment: Such treatments contains medication. There are various biological treatments that are:
- Tricyclic Antidepressant: Amitriptyline, Imipramine, Desipramine
- MAO Inhibitors: Phenelzine, Selegiline, Isocarboxazid
- Current Antidepressants: Fluoxetine, Citalopram, Sertraline
P.S: Do not proceed to this treatment until it gets to suicidal thoughts or harming yourself. Because such medications have other side effects which will bring harm and will also make you addicted to some extent.
Psychological Treatment: The best way to treat depression, in my opinion, is Psychological treatments and believe me they are long terms. Some treatments are:
- CBT
- Interpersonal Therapy
- Brain Stimulation Therapy
Some other treatments include:
- Exercise
- Healthy Diet
- Wear Nice Clothes
- Indulge in Nature
- Meet with New Peoples and start Conversation
- LOVE YOURSELF
